The Interstate 10 freeways provides access from the San Gabriel Valley to LAX. Ontario International Airport is also easily accessible from central and eastern San Gabriel Valley via Interstates 10 and 210. The Burbank Airport to the west is accessible via interstate 5. General aviation is provided by the El Monte Airport and Brackett Airfield in La Verne.

Metrolink, Southern California's commuter rail system offers comfortable commutes throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, and Ventura County, san Bernardino County, the Antelope Valley and the Inland Empire, where connecting passengers can also board Amtrak trains.

Three major freight lines cross the San Gabriel Valley, providing a direct link between the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, (America's two largest container terminals), and  the San Gabriel Valley. There is also the multi billion dollar, Alameda Corridor grade separation rail project which will expedite the flow of goods via ground and rail systems to and from the ports. The container yards will be located at the west and of the San Gabriel Valley.
